Introduction

ASE’s Cirrus SR22-G3 Advanced Aviation Training Device conforms to the FAA Advisory Circular 61-136 and was qualified on September 11, 2008.  With this qualification, the device is authorized for use in satisfying Tasks/Maneuvers, and Procedures under a variety of Part 61 and Part 141 sections including:  20 hours for Instrument Rating, 2.5 hour for Private Pilot Certificate, 50 hours for Commercial Certificate and 25 hours for the Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.

Flight Deck and Instrumentation

This FTD features an the actual Avidyne Entegra integrated avionics as installed in the aircraft.  The other instruments and controls are actual Cirrus aircraft components and avionics that have been modified for simulation.   A complete aural cue system uses sounds recorded during a flight test program.   The avionics package includes:  Dual Garmin GNS 430, Garmin 340, Garmin 327 and a simulated S-TEC 55X autopilot.

Software

The aerodynamics and systems simulation software was developed from data collected in a flight test program designed and executed by ASE.   It is the same simulation software that was used on our Level 6 FTD, qualified by the FAA.  So the aerodynamic performance and handling are equivalent to the quality found on the higher level FTD.

Visual System

A 52-inch 1080p HDTV screen is combined with a PC based image generator to present cues in both day and night visual and instrument conditions.
