The Cessna Citation CJ1 is one of the world’s most popular business jets. ASE developed this Level C Full Flight Simulator for a training center in Carlsbad, CA. It was qualified Part 60 by the FAA in October 2009. It uses ASE’s own 6DOF electric motion system which uses rotary actuators with pneumatic assist. It is the first such motion system ever qualified at this level. In this simulator, everything except the visual system was designed and built by ASE.
Flight Deck and Instrumentation
The Collins Pro Line 21
integrated instrument system dominates the
cockpit and ASE developed a software emulation of
the system for this simulator. The ISIS is also
a simulation of ASE design. These two
simulations are effective but inexpensive, and
make the ASE CJ1 extremely competitive.
The aerodynamics model is based
on the Rockwell Collins Flight Test Report.
ASE’s own flight controls models drive the ASE
three-channel electric control loading system.
