Flight Training Device

ASE 1000 Series

Flight Training Devices (FTDs) offer the quality of Full Flight Simulation without the motion system. ASE has supplied many FTDs that replicate full-size cockpit environments. In other words, a FTD features actual or replica aircraft instruments, equipment, panels, and controls in an open or enclosed flight deck.

The ASE 1000 Series are Flight Training Devices (FTDs) that are customized to the specs of the customer’s needs. The cockpit and furnishings are a combination of refurbished aircraft parts and manufactured replicas creating the perfect fit for your device.

This series provides training in a realistic enclosed cockpit for advanced training that does not need to be done in the Full Flight Simulator.

A variety of configurations can be manufactured for specific furnishings. instruments. flight controls and visual systems. Similarly, the ASE 1000 has a three-channel visual system, 180ºx40º cylindrical screen and HD projectors. The screen is sized to ensure less than 10° of parallax per pilot. The visual system provides for a minimum resolution of 5 arc-minutes for both computed and displayed pixel size.

In conclusion, ASE Flight Training Devices are a great way for pilots to gain and improve their skills in the air and reduce the expenses real flight time in the aircraft.

Specifications:

Used for either generic or aircraft specific flight training. Comprehensive flight, systems, and environmental models are required.

Levels of Flight Training Devices

FTD Level 4
  • May have open or an enclosed airplane specific flight deck
  • At least one airplane system installed and functional
  • Air/Ground Logic is Required (No Aerodynamic Programming Required)
  • Flat/LCD panels may represent both visual system and all controls, switches, and knobs with touch sensitive activation.
FTD Level 5
  • May have open or an enclosed airplane specific flight deck
  • Requires only generic aerodynamic programming and at least one operating system
  • Must have physical controls for primary and secondary flight controls
  • All other controls, switches, and knobs may be touch sensitive activation
FTD Level 6
  • Aircraft model specific aerodynamic programming, control loading, and physical cockpit are required
  • Requires effects of changes in gross weight and center of gravity
  • Simulate all applicable airplane flight, navigation, and systems operations (fixed wing)
  • Flight deck sounds that result from pilot actions that correspond to those that occur in the airplane
FTD Level 7
  • Level 7 device must have an enclosed airplane-specific flight deck
  • Model specific, all applicable aerodynamics, flight controls and systems must be modeled
  • The visual system must provide an out-of-the-flight deck view for both pilots simultaneously.
  • Field-Of-View 180°x40° for both pilots
